Pokemon

Ah yes! One of the biggest parts of my childhood. The little collectible creatures that can be used to help you become the greatest trainer of all time. POKEMON! Holy crap does this ever bring back memories! I remember like it was yesterday when myself along with my twin brother Chad and some of our friends watching the anime series. When we weren't watching the anime, we were playing the pokemon card game. Then when we weren't playing the card game, we were playing the video games! And every single one of them was such a joy to play. One of the things I had found interesting when I was doing some research for my blog was the fact that Pokemon creator Satoshi Tajiri was inspired by his childhood hobby of collecting insects. But when he lost those opportunities due to the habitats being paved over, he decided to use this opportunity to create a video game to have kids enjoy collecting things like he did during his younger days. I say Tajiri did an amazing job of that success a

Scooby Doo

One of my personal favorite things to have ever watched of all time is an awesome character called Scooby Doo. The lovable hound was introduced to the masses all the way back in 1969 from a little company called Hanna-Barbera. The original creators of the Scooby Doo was writers Joe Ruby and Ken Spears. The original series that started it all was Scooby Doo Where Are You? The show featured the talking dog along with four teenagers, Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley and Scooby's best friend Norville Rogers aka Shaggy. Collectively they are known as Mystery Inc and together they travel around the world solving mysteries in their Van called the Mystery Machine. I can honestly say that I never grow bored watching a Scooby Doo episode. Obviously I wasn't born around that time but I was first introduced to the Great Dane by my parents and I have been enjoying it ever since. One of the things I really love about Scooby Doo is all the craziness of all the mysteries that the grou

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Talk about having an impact on your life, the argument could be made that one of, if not the most influential shows back in the day was none other than the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! The show made its debut back on August 28, 1993 airing on Fox and things were never going to be the same for me ever again. Power Rangers was a action, adventure, science fiction story that was set in a fictional city of Angel Grove, California. The series began as two astronauts on a moon mission mistakenly freed an evil space witch named Rita Repulsa who then went to attack the earth where a sage named Zordan who was the reason why Rita and her minions were trapped for 10,000 years, became aware of Rita escaping and along with his robot assistant Alpha 5 set a plan in motion to call upon five teenagers and turn them into the ultimate fighting force. AKA the Power Rangers. Jason the Red Ranger (Leader) Zack the Black Ranger Kimberly the Pink Ranger Trini the Yellow Ranger (RIP) Billy the Blue Ranger

Prince

Some of you maybe a bit surprised by this one, but I really enjoy listening to Prince. He was one of my favorite people to listen to especially when it comes to feeling romantic and wanting to be with a woman to love. 😉 It is very hard for me to believe that is has been nearly ten years since his death by in 2016. The world has certainly lost a very talented musician.  Prince first came onto the scene back in the mid 1970s and made such a huge impact on music in my humble opinion. Now to be fair, I did not hear till the 90s when I first heard Little Red Corvette on the radio and man did I ever enjoy that song. Many people remember Prince for his androgynous persona but for me, it was his amazing singing ability. Not to often you hear somebody who could hit high notes like that. Another big reason was his ability to make music with different sounds and genres like blues, funk, rock, new wave, jazz, pop, etc. He was a true definition of an artist. As weird as this may sound, his lyric

People Don't Understand Me. And That Is Okay!

Been doing a lot of self-reflection recently mainly because I have been dealing with a lot of mental burnout. Going through this made me realize something very important, and that is not everybody is going to get or understand me. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Since the month of May is dedicated to Mental Health Awareness, I thought I'd share a little story. You see, I do not necessary have the best relationship with my parents a lot of which stems from my issues of Cerebral Palsy and Scoliosis among other things. Deep down I know they love me and I hope and pray that they know that I love them but we just don't really click. In fact, I can say the same about a lot of people in my life. I just don't have a good ability to connect with other people. I have a tough time with wondering if people will ever get me or if I am ever going to be good enough for them. But as time has past, I have come know that it is alright if people don't get me and what I a

One Year Anniversary! Love You All!

Wow! Um, I really don't know how to really start with this blog honestly. I um, I guess I start by just saying thank you to every single one of you who has supported me in my blog. I still find it very hard to believe that it has already been a year now since I launched this blog and the journey has been amazing to say the least. And I am forever grateful for all who has joined me on this ride. When I first decided to launch this blog, I must admit that I was incredibly nervous. I know shocking right lol. But it was mainly because I was opening up my writing and finally pushing myself creatively and really trying to make it as a writer. More importantly, I was opening myself up to all of you as well with many different topics. Many of which I never thought I would even want to talk about with such things like self harming. And yet here we are. This blog really has been a blessing in disguise for me and I thank you God for that. It has made me write so much and help keep whatever s

Mental Health And The Arts!

There has been a general concern that I have been having for a long time now and I am afraid about writing this. However, like I had mentioned before, I do not want to have fear run my life which is why I am writing about this. As I have written in the past I have talked about how writing stories, poems, this blog among many other artistic things have really helped me get through a lot of my depression and anxiety. Creating stories and characters have really brought some joy into my life and has let me get stuff out of my head that I once thought would never be able to come out. But now I fear that storytelling along with several other forms of art are now being under attack. I've seen a lot whether it be from mainstream media, social media, whatever the case, I have seen many people get attacked for expressing their art. Now do some people use their art to attack other people, of course. But that is not always the case though. You see, one of the reasons I was so scared to show o
