Spades (2026 Indy Film)

It is no secret that myself and my twin brother Chad are fans of the Power Rangers, so when I found out that one of my personal favorite rangers Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam) had written and directed his own movie called Spades.

Now obviously I am little bit behind in terms of watching and reviewing this film but, nonetheless, here it is. When Chad and I saw an opportunity to watch it, we took it and am I glad we did because I really enjoyed the film.

For those who don't know, Spades stars Jason Narvy as Detective James Bishop a War Veteran dealing with a heavy dose of trauma after losing his friend Jimmy during the war and the later his wife, discovers that a vigilante named Spades is running around killing criminals. To make matters worse, his daughter who he was trying to reconnect with, ends up being kidnapped by a group of traffickers and must find a way to rescue her.

I must say, I really had a fun time watching this movie. I have always appreciated seeing people trying to make their dream projects come to a reality. As a writer myself, I always want to see other writers and creators turn what they had written into movies, show, video games, etc.

Again, I had a ton of fun watching this movie. The pacing was pretty good and I liked how they focused on Detective Bishop's mental state throughout the film.

Plus, Johnny Yong Bosch did amazing as Jimmy aka Spades, I love the look of Spades, it kind of remained me a little bit of Ghost Rider mixed with the Spectre. Like a guardian angel watching over Bishop and the innocent souls against the forces of evil.

The concept of the cards was pretty cool, the fight scenes were great to watch and seeing the dynamic between Bishop and his daughter Lana played by Maya Brattkus was good.

I am very glad that me and Chadman decided to watch this movie. And I pray that more people will get to see it and that more people could someday have their stories be told.

Go check out Spades! Congrats to Bosch and the rest of the crew!

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏

The Wacky Adventures Of Josh And Chad: McVeytown Fire Company 18

Sometimes the most adventurous days come when you do not expect them and today was certainly one of those days. Chad and I went outside to take care of recycling and Chad had suggested we go check out the brand new Fire House for the McVeytown Fire company.  His boss from Kountry Kitchen, Amanda Boozel, her husband Doug is the Assistant Chief of the McVeytown Fire Company and they invited us to come over and check out the new the building. Of course we decided to go and see it for ourselves. When we arrived, Doug was not there yet, but we were welcomed by Nate Moist and many other members of the fire company and Moist went and gave us a little tour around the building. It was quite beautiful and I am glad to see that they were able to get the building put up. Now, remember when I said that sometimes the adventure can come when you least expect it. Well that came as we had just finished up our little tour, the alarm went off as a fire had broken out.  While Chad and I sto...

Remembering Aunt Jane!

Image
WOW! This blog post has certainly been something special to work on because it was something that I have been wanting to do for my family for some time now and at last, it has been completed. Being in such a large family like mine is, we have gone through a lot together in our lives. Recently we lost my Uncle Rick and Uncle Dave as well as my cousin Brett and my Uncle Rocky before that. Rest In Peace to you all! Miss you greatly! 🙏🙏🙏 So my goal was to help bring back some happy memories for my family! The reason I chose to write this was for one, this year marks 40 years since the tragic death of Aunt Jane. And second, honestly, I never got to know her, so I wanted to help get the family together and learn about her. As you see, she had passed away in 1986 while I was born in 1990. And boy! Did I ever learn a lot about her 😁. The common theme throughout my journey into learning about Aunt Jane was that she was such a kind and gentle soul who cared deeply for her family. Here are so...

2009 Lewistown Panthers Baseball

Image
Well, with me trying to become more positive about myself, I have been looking back into the past and find ways to let go of some of the negative emotions attached to it. One such issue was going back to my time at Lewistown Area High School which as mentioned before was a huge struggle for me.  But again, trying to be more positive, I wanted to look back at that time and remember some of the good moments during that period. One of which was playing for the Lewistown Panthers baseball team. Heading into my senior year of high school, I wasn't in the best state of mind. Honestly, I really did not want to be there anymore, I was just so sick of life, never thought I was going to be anything. All I ever was going to be was a huge disappointment. I can only give credit to God for being able to get through that year. But then baseball tryouts came along and I decided to go for it again. The previous years I've tried only to fail, which in fairness, wasn't much of a surprise bec...
