American Gladiators (Original Series)

 Thirty years ago this month of May, will mark the final year of the original American Gladiator TV series which started back in 1989 all the way to 1996.

The series follows a cast of amateurs as they compete against each other which is usually consisted of two male and two female athletes as well as the show's own "Gladiators" through multiple challenges of strength and agility.

Each season was basically a tournament where a male and female contenders would ultimately become an American Gladiator themselves.

The contenders go through a variety of events throughout the show. Some of those events were Pyramid, Hang Tough, Joust, The Wall and so forth. My personal favorite event was Assault.

I also very much enjoyed all of the cool names that each of the Gladiators. Such as, Laser, Malibu, Diamond, Ice, Thunder, Turbo, Storm, Lace, Nitro, Gold, Blaze and so many more.

With that being said, rest in peace to Hawk, Siren, Atlas, Thunder, Gold who are no longer with us. 🙏🙏🙏.

Being a little kid at that time, I was in awe of the peak physical conditioning of these "American Gladiators". They came off looking like comic book superheroes to me and getting to see them compete against the regular everyday people gave me a whole David versus Goliath story in each episode.

The intro to each episode was always a treat as well because it really got me pumped up and getting to see which Gladiator was going to appear on the episode with their names being announced.

And truthfully, I had completely forgotten that the original show had a soundtrack until I did research on it before I wrote this blog post. Featuring some major names like Pat Benatar and The Fabulous Thunderbirds, just to name a few.

There have been a few revivals of this show since then, like the 2008 series and the currently one on Amazon Prime which I haven't seen. But to me, I still prefer the original series mainly because it just felt so authentic in my humble opinion.

This was fun looking back on such a classic. Heck maybe should rewatch an old episode on YouTube.

But former Huskies' great Trent Hidlay pulled off an incredible comeback and became the 2025 World Wrestling Champion in Croatia at 92 kg. 2009 Lewistown Panthers Baseball

 Well, with me trying to become more positive about myself, I have been looking back into the past and find ways to let go of some of the negative emotions attached to it. One such issue was going back to my time at Lewistown Area High School which as mentioned before was a huge struggle for me.  But again, trying to be more positive, I wanted to look back at that time and remember some of the good moments during that period. One of which was playing for the Lewistown Panthers baseball team. Heading into my senior year of high school, I wasn't in the best state of mind. The Wacky Adventures Of Josh And Chad: HWF Summerfest!

 Ah yes, yesterday was one of my favorite moments of the summer season. And that is the annual Summerfest event held by HWF which is the local wrestling federation run by my long time friend Matt Silks. Although this is the fifth annual Summerfest under the HWF banner, this event has been since I first met Matt back in high school and has held a special place in hearts of many of us pro wrestling fans here in Central PA. It is crazy to think how far something like this has come, I mean I was a freshmen in high school when I first met Matt and the gang. Of course, back then it was just a bunch a kids and a simple trampoline. Now look at it, it has become such a big event around town.
