Conan O'Brien
With my quest of trying to be more positive and getting away from negative thoughts, I thought I write about someone who has been quite an inspiration to me in my life. His name is Conan O'Brien.
For those of you who may not know, Conan is an American television host, comedian and writer. He is best known for his late night talk shows that began all the way back to 1993 when he debut on NBC with Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
The first time I got to see Conan was during the late 90s when he was the host of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Being a young kid at that time, getting to see the show was always fun, especially since it was just me and my twin brother Chad and our older brother Cody. Of course this was also before I realized that Late Night was a nightly show lol. For a long time, I thought the show only happened on Friday night. Me and Chad would basically crawl from our room over to Cody's room and we just chill and watch Conan together.
Personally, I always got a kick out of when Conan would do the Walker Texas Ranger lever which showed some random clips of the hit show. I also really loved listening to Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, especially when he was on Hollywood Squares.
He also had a career prior to Late Night as I learned he was a writer for Saturday Night Live and The Simpsons. Conan got to work with such great talent like Mike Myers, Robert Smigel, Jon Lovitz, Dana Carvey and many more.
For the Simpsons, Conan wrote episodes Marge Vs the Monorail as well as the episode Homer Goes to College among others.
One of the biggest reasons as to why I became a fan of Conan was his awkward and self-deprecation humor. Yet at the same time his shows were also very elegant and wholesome. His shows always felt like a bunch of people coming together and having a great time.
Being social awkward myself, getting to see a someone like Conan who wasn't like many of comedians and talk show people at the time and becoming so successful is very inspiring to me.
It is crazy to think it has been five years since he left late night talk shows and honestly, I miss seeing him Conan on late night television. But hey, at least we still got the Conan podcasts. I personally love listening to him and Jeff Ross talk about the early days of Late Night as well as listening to him talk with his fellow writers from his days with the Simpsons. Really cool stuff!
Congrats to all of your successful Conan! Thank you for all of the memories!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
