Eric Clapton

Many of you may be a little bit surprised by this, but one of my personal favorite genres to listen to is the Blues. And in today's blog post, I want to talk about the man who introduced me to the Blues and his name is Eric Clapton.

Clapton is widely regarded as one of the most successful and influential guitarist in music. He ranks second in Rolling Stone's Top 100 Greatest Guitarist of All Time, fourth in Gibson's Top 50's list and fifth in Time Magazine's 10 Best Electric Guitarists.

The man has won numerous awards whether it be from the Grammy's, the Brit Awards, Ivor Novello Awards and is the only artist to be a three-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. One time as a member of the Yardbirds, the other as a part of the group called Cream and as a solo artist.

In fact, as a solo artist, Clapton has sold over 100 million records worldwide which makes him one of the greatest selling musicians of all time.

Mr. Clapton has been a part of such incredible bands throughout his storied career, such as the Yardbirds, Cream, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Blind Faith, Delany and Bonnie and Derek and the Dominos, just to name a few.

As mentioned earlier in my blog post, Clapton is the man who introduced to the Blues as well as artists such as BB King, Albert King, Buddy Guy, etc.

The blues itself has had such an incredible effect on my personal life. With my continuous battle with mental health as well as my CP/Scoliosis, the blues has been such a relief on my mind and I highly recommend anyone out there struggling mentally, give the blues a try, you will not be disappointed.

But, back to Clapton! He has so many amazing songs! I mean, with a career like his, there are so many to choice from. Such classic hits like Layla, Tears In Heaven, Change the World, My Father's Eyes, Wonderful Tonight, Bell Bottom Blues, Blues Power, Lay Down Sally, Forever Man, Tears Us Apart, Running On Faith, not to mention Blue Eye Blue (Originally written by Diane Warren) and of course his cover of I Shot the Sheriff (A Bob Marley Song). Holy Cow! That is a lot of songs lol!

Clapton is also one of my favorite sessions of the MTV Unplugged show! Just everything about it hits the very core of my soul. Honestly, I don't know how much better I can explain it than that.

Eric Clapton certainly one of the all time greats! And thank you so much for the incredible music!

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
