The Wacky Adventures Of Josh And Chad: Weekend With Codeman!
This past weekend was quite a fun ride for me and my twin as we got to witness the return to Lewistown, our older brother Cody who was visiting from New York.
Codeman made his way to home safely on Thursday, which I wish I knew that before me and Chad had left our local Wal-Mart because we could have gotten some Nardones Pizza. Maybe next time lol.
Again, I was just so thankful that he got here safely, when we returned home, I was happy to finally see him. Gave Codeman a big ole hug! It isn't really too often that I get to hear from him, let alone see him in person, of course being a father of two children now, Love you Lukey, Love you Ava, I can not blame him.
By nightfall, we all just got to chill around the living room watching some football. Before we all headed for bed, Codeman suggested about all three of the Yoder brothers spend some time again with each other all day Friday.
And hung out we did, Cody had asked us if we wanted to hitch a ride with him in his Bronco and head out to Big Valley Antiques because he wanted to see if he could find some Penn State sports memorabilia.
As we made our way to Milroy, we decided to stop at a Rutters which honestly was the first time that I ever had eaten there. I must say, it was quite delicious. Not long after that, we went inside Big Valley Antiques and Chad got to show Codeman around. Of course you all know that Chad and I had to go check out the comic books 😄 and yes, we did get some comic books.
Of course, it was just awesome that we were able to hangout with our big bro. It was the first time in a very long time that it was just the three of us and we were having such a great time. But there was more where that comes from as we ended up at Shy Bear for a little bit where we just talk, laugh with the great people there.
Afterwards, we ended up going to see one of Codeman's old college roommates in Tyler Fida at his house where we got to meet his wife and their young son. It was good time getting to listen to them talk about the good ole days at Penn State, some of which were quite funny and entertaining.
The night didn't end there as after we got back from Fida's, we were just chilling in the living room where an unexpected heart to heart moment between me and Codeman. It wasn't planned, Cody and I just started talking about stuff where I wanted to open up to him about my struggles mentally and how I was frustrated about how I wasn't as good as him and trying to get out of that funk for all these years.
To my surprise, Cody was happy to talk about it, he mentioned about my blog post about it and was happy to hear that I was trying to get past it. Even more surprising was Codeman opening up how he struggle and it was very similar to what I went through and that he was proud of me for trying to strengthen myself mentally and encouraged me and Chad to keep going.
Which this post was basically a long winded answer to the point I am trying to make lol. The point I am getting at is, no matter how hard things may seem, there is always hope and there are people there who love you and want to see you succeed in life.
Although, I really don't get to talk with Codeman too often for a number of reasons, but nonetheless it was just really great to hear from him. Again, I wasn't planning on telling him these things, but maybe God was telling me that it was time to let some things go and get them out of my system with my conversation with Cody. I felt incredibly relieved after our talk and it is quite nice to get another long depressing thoughts out of my head. Even though my depression is a constant struggle, again, there is always hope.
Ultimately, I just wanted to also point out to everyone to please appreciate those around whether it be for a day or two, months, years, decades. Appreciate everyone and everything because you never know when it will be taken away.
I love you Codeman! Tell Christine, Lukey, Ava and Macy I love them too. God Bless and Be Safe!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
