Happy Thanksgiving! Garfield Thanksgiving TV Special!

Well folks! It is finally here, a day where many of us come together to celebrate and give thanks for another year and the blessings that we have received throughout that year. Today is Thanksgiving!

As is tradition, at least for me and my twin brother Chad and I, and that is to watch the Garfield Thanksgiving special. The special was created by Jim Davis who also along with Kim Campbell co-wrote the story. It was produced by Phil Roman with Lorenzo Music (RIP) who returns to voice Garfield.

Originally it first aired in 1989 which was just one year before me and Chad were even born and was broadcast by CBS.

The story follows Garfield who soon discovers on the calendar that Jon is planning to take him to see the Vet which Garfield does not like and attempts to fool Jon and make him forget. Unfortunately, the plan backfires and Garfield is taken to the Vet.

While at his appointment, Jon tries to invite Dr. Liz Wilson over to his house for a Thanksgiving dinner where she reluctantly agrees to. Even worse for Garfield, he has been told that he is being put on a diet to help with losing weight.

Thanksgiving arrives with Garfield continuing to struggle with his new diet. However, with Liz arrives and tells him to take a break from the diet which excites him only to discover that Jon had screwed up the Thanksgiving dinner.

Thankfully, Garfield successfully convinces Jon to call his Grandma who saves the day for Jon and creates an amazing dinner before sneaking out the back.

God do I love this special so much! I mean, I never get tired of watching. Just watching Garfield panic after hearing he was going to the vet was quite hilarious. I also loved how Grandma who was played by Pat Carroll (RIP) managed to create the Thanksgiving dinner (Stand back Garfield, this is WAR!) lol. Probably one of the funnier moments was when Garfield stepped onto the scale to check his weight and the scale called him Olsen Welles 😂.

One thing I am for sure thankful for was another year getting to watch Garfield again and more importantly getting to watch it with family and friends. Watching this special to me was just another reminder of what I should be thankful for which is family, friend, faith and the importance of gratitude.

I highly recommend watching this incredible special! You will not be disappointed!

Until Next Time!

Happy Thanksgiving!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
