The Wacky Adventures Of Josh And Chad: HWF Summerfest!

Ah yes, yesterday was one of my favorite moments of the summer season. And that is the annual Summerfest event held by HWF which is the local wrestling federation run by my long time friend Matt Silks.

Although this is the fifth annual Summerfest under the HWF banner, this event has been since I first met Matt back in high school and has held a special place in hearts of many of us pro wrestling fans here in Central PA.

It is crazy to think how far something like this has come, I mean I was a freshmen in high school when I first met Matt and the gang. Of course, back then it was just a bunch a kids and a simple trampoline. Now look at it, it has become such a big event around town.

Which honestly makes me smile because something like this in a small town like Lewistown. It is something to help people come out together and enjoy some good old wrestling.

It also brings a tear to my eye because I remember the talks I have had with not just Matt, but several other people about doing something to help build up this community and now here we are.

Of course it makes sense that with it being called Summerfest, that the day itself was going to be extremely hot and humid. Me as well as my twin brother Chad quickly felt the heat as soon as we walked right out the door lol. But nonetheless, we traveled our way down to our Aunt Vic and Uncle Butch's house where we parked and stopped in to see how they were doing.

Afterwards we walked our way up to the Heritage Fire Company, the home of HWF wrestling where we were greeted by Matt and several people involved with the HWF. It is always good to see them all, every single one of them are great people trying to help build a company.

As we waited for the show to begin, Chad had told me about this amazing food truck that was sitting outside the Heritage and of course, I had to go see it. As I walked outside, I noticed that it was called the Mid-Life Crisis and the dudes who were running it were awesome. I went up and ordered me an egg and cheese sandwich. And man was it incredible! Big Shoutout to the Mid-Life Crisis food truck, amazing food. Highly recommend!

I felt bad for the wrestlers out there, it was quite humid which is never easy to wrestle in. But thankfully, everyone was able to get through.

When Summerfest came to a close, me and Chad walked back to our car and headed home so I could write my story for Hometown Sports. Which I was able to get done and send it out to Kenny. If you want to see what happened at the show, check out the story at hometownsportsscene.com.

Thank you again to the HWF crew for having us at the event and I pray that everybody got home safely. Hopefully things will continue to build not only for the HWF, but for the community as well.

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
