Rocket Power (Cartoon Series)

 God only knows how much I missed this show. I mean seriously, me and my twin brother Chad LOVED this show. Whenever Summer came around here in Pennsylvania, we pretended like we were the group of kids the show was about. 

Rocket Power was created by Arlene Klasky and Gabor Crespo and made its debut in 1999 on Nickelodeon and lasted for four seasons ending in 2004.

The story of Rocket Power follows four young kids from a Southern California beach community named Otto, Reggie, Twister and Squid who have an interest in extreme sports such as skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding and street hockey along with getting into a wide variety of situations and overcoming trials and challenges of growing up.

I loved this show so much! It was special to me because, being stuck at home all of the time as a kid made me wish I could live like those kids you saw on the show. Going outside all of the time, being by the beach, warm weather and honestly I really enjoy roller hockey. This show made me dream about living in a community like the one on the show.

No one will be surprised by this, but the one I related to the most was Squid lol. 

Rocket Power had an awesome move back in 2002 called Race across New Zealand which was awesome to watch.

The show also had several video games throughout its run on multiple gaming systems that include the PS1, PS2, GameCube, Game boy Color, Game Boy Advance and PC. Games like Rocket Power: Beach Bandits.

I really miss this show 😔 and to be honest, I wish more kids, especially today's generation would see this show. Because this show made me want to be able to go outside and be with friends and have fun with life. Sure I love me some video games and stuff, but in my humble opinion, we all need to be able to be around each other regardless of who you are. We may be different, but that shouldn't stop us from loving one another and that is what this show taught me.

The Wacky Adventures Of Joshua and Chad: McVeytown Eagles Championship Parade!

Well tonight was a pretty special night down here in McVeytown as Chad and I along with many other people who live here in McVeytown all came together to celebrate a special accomplishment. And that was how all three of the McVeytown Eagles teams made it to the CKYFL championship games. Winning in both the Peewee and Midget divisions and placing second in the Mighty Mights. Stuff like this doesn't happen often in such a small town where I live so to see these kids have the time of their lives during the parade was certainly a sight to see. One of the things I love about covering sports is when I see kids learn, work hard and turn it into success. The 2005 Lewistown Panthers Football Team!

 I recently completed reading my story for Hometown Sports Magazine about the 2005 Lewistown Panthers football team who finally ended a thirty years of losing seasons. In this blog, I wanted to talk about why I wanted to write about this team and how I feel the lessons that were learned about them throughout the year can still be used today.  One of the biggest reasons as to why I wanted to write about this team was because of how much of team these guys were both on and off the field. These guys have played the game of football together for a number of years and it clearly showed. Plus being a youngster, I really didn't know the history of Lewistown Panthers football.
