The Wacky Adventures Of Josh And Chad: Mount Union Alumni Baseball Game!

Well this past Saturday, I got to go do some work for Hometown Sports Magazine as I went over to Mount Union where I got to cover the Mount Union Alumni game. This event was to help the charity called CHAMP which is a group who helps raise funds for those who struggle with medical expenses.

I asked my twin brother Chadman to tag along and get to witness some fun baseball, even though he isn't much of a sports guy like myself. Thankfully, he decided to come along.

It certainly was a very hot day indeed, I'm sure glad to be able to hide inside the press box during the game. Chad was able to find some shade to sit back and enjoy the game.

And it was quite an entertaining game itself! As I worked my way onto the field and into the dugout to introduce myself, I got to witness a lot of history. You see, Mount Union baseball is very big in the small town of Mount Union, Pa. And it was all thanks to one man, Nick Imperioli (Rest In Peace) who tragically passed away this year.

Meeting a lot of those players who had played for coach Imperioli who has coached for 43 years was quite a sight to see. Many of them have played on teams from the 80s, 90s and beyond, some of them were playing for the first time in a long time.

Thankfully, no muscles were pulled, nobody got injured, it just some old friends coming together and playing the great sport that is baseball.

As mentioned earlier, I got to sit in the press box and enjoyed the game, sitting with me was coach Hicks' brother Charlie who was announcing the game and I must say, he was quite fun to listen to throughout the game 😂.

I also got to see my cousin Cory who was also a part of the team as well during his days at Mount Union where he was the game manager. It would have been pretty cool if he was out there to play, but hey there is always next year.

A huge shoutout and thank you to coach Tim Hicks and the other members of the Mount Union baseball Alumni as well as the people of Mount Union for allowing my twin and I to come and cover the event. Hopefully we will get to do this again some time.

I am pleased to announce that CHAMP and company were able to raise around a 1000 dollars!

It was an amazing experience!

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
