Blue World Order (Pro Wrestling Faction)
It is no secret that I am a big pro wrestling fan, which has led me to today's topic, the Blue World Order which in my humble opinion is one of the best factions ever! This group made its debut back in November of 1996 and has made an impact ever since.
As mentioned in a previous blog, Stevie Richards was an enormous help to me in my short wrestling/referee career and really in life. Making me a proud fan of the bWo!
The first time I had ever seen the blue World order was 20 years ago in 2005 when they were with the WWE for a short stint.
But being a fan of the history of pro wrestling, I got to learn more about them and became an even bigger fan.
The bWo originally started in ECW and was a parody of the WCW faction, the New World Order which was the hottest act in wrestling at the time. It featured Big Stevie Cool (Stevie Richards) who was portraying Kevin Nash, Da Blue Guy (The Blue Meanie) pretending to be Scott Hall and Hollywood Nova (Nova) as Hollywood Hogan.
It was only suppose to be another one their parodies, but it had gotten so over that it became a permanent thing and thank God it did.
These guys are awesome! Thanks to the WWE Network, I get to look back at some of the highlights of this amazing faction. Some of my personal favorites are their promos of them trying to sell their shirts and I especially get a kick out of their Christmas promo 😄.
Sadly, the original run would only last for a few years which sucks because I really believe that this had the legs for a much longer run.
I still support the bWo to this very day as Stevie Richards does his fitness thing along with the Stevie Richards Show. The Blue Meanie has an amazing podcast called The Mind of The Meanie and I highly recommend you all to watch their shows!
I wish these guys would appear in more video games. The only time that the blue World order was in a video game was the Retromania game which I played lol.
Oh, I almost forgot about the other members they had like Thomas "The Inchworm" Rodman who is suppose to be Dennis Rodman. Heck! They even parodied NWO Japan with bWo Japan which is Kaientai DX from Michinoku Pro Wrestling. Taka Michinoku, Dick Togo and Terry Boy to be more particular. And those guys had an incredible six man tag match at the Barely Legal 1997 PPV. You must watch that as well as the their matches in Michinoku Pro.
The bWo is awesome and honestly, I wish there were more groups like this nowadays. But thankfully, I can go back and watch some incredible stuff that they had created.
bWo for life!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody!
