Remembering Ronnie James Dio!
Can't believe it has now been 15 years since the death of our arguably one of if not the greatest metal singers of all time in the form of the late great Ronnie James Dio.
I obviously got into listening to Ronnie James Dio very late due to being born in 1990. But getting to listen to his music and hearing some amazing stories about him really made me want to do this little tribute blog post for him.
When I was doing my research for this blog post, I was shocked to find out that Ronnie had been involved with music since the late 1950s 😮.
Ronnie James Dio has been involved with such great bands like Rainbow, Dio, Heaven & Hell and of course Black Sabbath. Creating such incredible songs like Fear, Bible Black, Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark, Rock and Roll Angel, Breaking into Heaven, Mob Rules, Heaven & Hell and so much more.
Many people regard Dio as one of, if not the most influential heavy metal singers of all time. Dio was also given credit for creating the "devil horns" hand gesture. However, it has nothing to do with the devil, in fact it was from an Italian Apotropaic hand gesture which was used to protect those from evil spirits. It is basically protection magic, but somehow people believe it is still evil.
Fun fact! I discovered that Dio had himself a video game that was released in Japan called Holy Diver back in 1989. I never knew that!
Sadly, I never got a chance to meet Dio, but every video I have watched or stories I read about him all have one thing in common. They all talked about what an incredible human being he was. Seriously! I have never found a single person say anything negative about Ronnie James Dio and I don't think I ever will.
It is such a shame that Ronnie is no longer with us, it still is crazy to me that it has already been 15 years since his passing.
Thank you so much for all the great memories! Rest in Peace Ronnie!
Until Next Time!
God Bless you Ronnie and prayers to all of those who knew and loved him!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
