NFL Draft 2025 Preview!

 Well football fans! We are getting closer to one of my favorite things about the sport and that is the NFL draft. The draft will be held at good ole Green Bay, Wisconsin home of the Green Bay Packers and will begin this coming Thursday April 24 on ESPN, NFL Network, etc.

I love the draft! Mainly because I myself have always enjoyed trying to build a team. I have always found it interesting to see how teams draft and why they believe the player that they have selected will help change the culture of their respective franchises.

As tradition there will be seven rounds with a total of 257 picks throughout this three day event. With having the worse win-loss record from last season, the Tennessee Titans will have the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. The runner ups in the Super Bowl, the Kansas City Chiefs will have the Mt. Irrelevant pick which for those who don't know is the very last pick in the Draft.

Both the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens will have the most selections with each having a total of 11 selections. While the Minnesota Vikings will have the fewest picks in this year's draft with a total of four picks.

As of right now, here is the order of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft:

Las Vegas Raiders

New York Jets

New Orleans Saints

Chicago Bears

It is going to be very interesting to see what will happen this coming Thursday. Whether it will be who will be the first pick. All of the trades and other deals that will be going on during those three days. But the biggest thing that I really enjoy about watching the draft, is wondering if we will see the next big football player in this draft. You just never know whether it be a first round pick, three round or even the last pick of the draft, somebody could just be there waiting to be found, a diamond in the rough if you will.

The Wacky Adventures Of Joshua and Chad: McVeytown Eagles Championship Parade!

Well tonight was a pretty special night down here in McVeytown as Chad and I along with many other people who live here in McVeytown all came together to celebrate a special accomplishment. And that was how all three of the McVeytown Eagles teams made it to the CKYFL championship games. Winning in both the Peewee and Midget divisions and placing second in the Mighty Mights. Stuff like this doesn't happen often in such a small town where I live so to see these kids have the time of their lives during the parade was certainly a sight to see. One of the things I love about covering sports is when I see kids learn, work hard and turn it into success. The 2005 Lewistown Panthers Football Team!

 I recently completed reading my story for Hometown Sports Magazine about the 2005 Lewistown Panthers football team who finally ended a thirty years of losing seasons. In this blog, I wanted to talk about why I wanted to write about this team and how I feel the lessons that were learned about them throughout the year can still be used today.  One of the biggest reasons as to why I wanted to write about this team was because of how much of team these guys were both on and off the field. These guys have played the game of football together for a number of years and it clearly showed. Plus being a youngster, I really didn't know the history of Lewistown Panthers football.
