Why I Love Baseball! (Baseball Season Is Here!)

 Today is a special for me, it is the opening day of Major League Baseball! I am so excited to have some more baseball. Of course I have been trying to keep up with a lot of high school baseball for my friends at Hometown Sports and also some college baseball as well.

But what I love the most about MLB baseball is it brings back a ton of fun memories for me as a child. I remember playing a lot of wuffleball with my family in the backyard. I remember getting to sit in front of the TV with my Pap.

Some of my favorite video games to play were baseball games, you know like Backyard Baseball, MVP Baseball, Triple Play Baseball, personally I really loved playing the College Baseball games.

Of course, as mentioned before, I had written about the time I finally made my High School Baseball team and getting to be apart of the team.

The idea of also being able to help coach a baseball team or even become a Head Coach was also a fun thing I thought about doing because I wanted to be able to help others like my Pap and my coaches and teammates did for me.

I would also love to be able to help build a team up like a GM or something. One of the things I love about sports in general is checking out the draft and see how teams try to build up their franchises. I do that a lot in video games which I know there is a big difference between video games and real life, but still I love the process of it.

I wish I could find old episodes of one of my favorite documentary series called the Golden Age of Baseball. I loved watching some of these historic stuff!

Being able to just go outside and smell the freshly cut grass, hearing the sound of the baseball coming off the bat. Personally I like the sound of the wooden bat better than the aluminum bat, but that is just my humble opinion.

I also can not wait to see the Little League World Series because I always love seeing these kids from different countries and different backgrounds come together and have a great time playing the great game of baseball. To me, baseball is great way to bring us all closer together especially when the World Baseball Classic is going on as well. The next time that will happen will be in 2026.

Baseball is so much fun! MLB Opening Day will feature 14 games! According to Fan Duel Sports Book, the Dodgers are the favorite to win all again this year. But to be fair, that is usually how all sports start the season off with when it comes to booking favorites. That is why we play the game.

It is going to be a long season, but in the end, we will all see who will walk away with the MLB Crown!

Baseball is finally here!

 Well, with me trying to become more positive about myself, I have been looking back into the past and find ways to let go of some of the negative emotions attached to it. The Wacky Adventures Of Joshua and Chad: McVeytown Eagles Championship Parade!

Well tonight was a pretty special night down here in McVeytown as Chad and I along with many other people who live here in McVeytown all came together to celebrate a special accomplishment. And that was how all three of the McVeytown Eagles teams made it to the CKYFL championship games. Winning in both the Peewee and Midget divisions and placing second in the Mighty Mights. Stuff like this doesn't happen often in such a small town where I live so to see these kids have the time of their lives during the parade was certainly a sight to see. One of the things I love about covering sports is when I see kids learn, work hard and turn it into success. And these kids were learning a lot throughout the season and watching them grow and not only become better football players, but better people as well.  Which is why I have really enjoyed covering the CKYFL these last few years for Hometown Sports. Nick Dickson

 Recently, I had found out that a family friend of ours named Nick Dickson had a stroke and people have been doing what they can to support him and his family. Nick is a local mechanic who has been serving this community for many, many years and has always been a generous, hard worker and honorable person at the Dickson's Garage along with his father Ken. He and his father are also local racing legends around here in Mifflin County having raced for a couple generations now. Nick and his family have always been honest with me and my family and has helped take care of our vehicles for many years. They are amazing,  hardworking people who now need our help. And according to the go fund me page that was set up by Andrea Baker and Valeri Thornburgh. The doctors had told his family that it will take months at minimum for him to be able to recover and will not be able to work for the foreseeable future.
