Penn State Wins National Title In Wrestling!
Well, it is now official, the Penn State Nittany Lions have won the NCAA Wrestling National title for the fourth straight year and this is the twelve National championship under Head Coach Cael Sanderson.
It was crazy to think how dominate Penn State was throughout the tournament. The Nittany Lions had 10 All-Americans going into it. In fact, they clinched the title during the Saturday morning consolation rounds.
Penn State had wrestlers who finished sixth or better and even broke their team scoring record from last year which was 172.5 points to this year with the Nittany Lions scoring a team total of 177 points 😮.
Three wrestlers from Penn State made it to the finals of their respective weight classes with two of them winning. The first being Carter Starocci who won his fifth individual National title and the other being Mitchell Mesenbrink.
This incredible run that Penn State wrestling on right now is still something I can not wrap my brain around on. I mean holy crap are these guys good, to me, wrestling is one of the toughest sports in the world and to see just one team dominate like the Nittany Lions have truly is inspiring to watch.
I will say this again, whenever this run is over, the people at Penn State better appreciate what these guys have accomplished. Whether it be David Taylor, Bo Nickal, Aaron Brooks, Carter Starocci, you name them, Penn State has created a Dynasty like no other. Congrats to the Nittany Lions on another NCAA Title.
But that wasn't the only news in wrestling, oh no as Wyatt Hendrickson of Oklahoma State pulled off a major upset over Gable Steveson within the final seconds. Congrats on the win Hendrickson.
Well wrestling season is officially done for now, but soon we will be right back to some college basketball action. But overall, wrestling was pretty amazing to watch this season and I can not wait for the next one.
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
