Cleveland Browns 95 Season
Just the other day, my family and I were watching the Cleveland Browns play against the Baltimore Ravens which the Ravens smoked the Browns 35-10. But that is not what I really wanted to talk about as you see, during the game itself I had realized that it is 2025 now. Which means that thirty years ago the original Cleveland Browns had relocated to Baltimore.
I remember watching the NFL Films documentary about that season with Cleveland. I was only five years old when it happened and it was crazy to see the reaction people had for this event shall we say because the original Browns team started in Cleveland back in 1944 and was apart of the All-American Football Conference in 1946 before joining the NFL in 1950.
For 51 years this team had been apart of the city of Cleveland winning numerous championships under legendary football coach Paul Brown.
But then 1995 rolled around and I remember watching the documentary and seeing how the players reacted to it and saw how they struggled to get through the season. I mean what was crazy about all of it was the simple fact that the same team was coming off a huge 1994 season. So to come off of that and then were told that your team no longer exist the follow season, yeah I think every single one of us would be completely deflated too.
What I also found interesting was that arguably the greatest coach in NFL history in Bill Belichick as their head coach.
Which brings me back to the Browns and Ravens game from the other day. Watching the Ravens dominate the Browns could only remind Browns fans that yes, they have their team back, but it is not the same as the true history of the Browns now wears purple.
I say this because the Browns we all see on TV are an expansion team that was rewarded to Cleveland in the aftermath of this chaos and did not come back to play until 1999. And honestly, ever since then, they have not been very good.
Regardless of what we all think about it, it happened and there is nothing we can do about it. I feel bad for the players and coaches as well as fans who had to got through all of that mess and hopefully nobody will have to go through something like that ever again.
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
