Sons Of Anarchy! (TV Show)
It is crazy to think that this show has now been done for 10 years now. And still holds up as one of the best shows ever. To this very day, you can still feel the impact that it had from back in the day and that show is Sons Of Anarchy.
Sons Of Anarchy was created by Kurt Sutter back in 2008, which made me a junior in high school. The show aired on the channel FX and it follows an outlaw motorcycle club in the fictional town of Charming, California. Common themes that the show had throughout its run was love, brotherhood, loyalty, betrayal and redemption.
The show follows Jax Teller played by Charles Hunham who discovered his father's manifesto and learned about his concerns with the direction of the club.
I remember first seeing the show and honestly, right from the opening song that was played before every episode, it just grabs at me and I was hooked. The song was called This Life by Curtis Stigers and the Forest Rangers. It was just pure poetry.
Plus, I always had this weird fantasy of being this tough biker and be able to ride a motorcycle which to be perfectly honest, I don't think that I would be able to do that in real life. I probably just fall over trying to ride the thing 😂.
It was weird for me too because of this show was about outlaw bikers and for some strange reason, these guys were awesome and I wish I could be a part of something like that. Maybe it is because I never really had a set group of friends in my own life. But these guys looked like they would be there for me no matter what.
The characters, the storytelling were always incredible to watch. I mean, holy crap I hope to make characters and stories like that someday and make impact on other people. It was basically Hamlet on motorcycles which makes sense how the series of based on the Shakespeare play.
My personal favorite character was Opie and spoiler alert, his death was really painful to see. Even though I admire how he sacrificed himself for his friends. Heck even the actor Ryan Hurst who played Opie was crying about it. You know you created an amazing character when the actor that plays him is shook up by it.
An interesting fact about the show was that SAMCRO took some inspiration from the local Hells Angels Motorcycle Club, some actual members were special guest appearances. A former member David Labrava who played Happy Lowman.
Again it is crazy that this show ended 10 years ago. Congrats to you Kurt Sutter!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody!🙏🙏🙏
