Nicktoons Unite! (Video Game)

 I can't believe that this amazing game is nearly 25 years old. And just thinking about it brings a huge smile on my face and in today's blog, I thought about looking back on a video game called Nicktoons Unite.

This was pretty much a peak part of my childhood watching Nicktoons like Spongebob Squarepants, Danny Phantom, Fairy Odd Parents, Jimmy Neutron, etc. So the fact that they decided to create a game where are all of these amazing characters come together was really exciting for me.

This game came out for the Gamecube, Xbox, PS2 and a few other systems in 2005, I quickly got myself a copy for my gamecube and honestly, I was not disappointed.

Nicktoons Unite begins with Spongebob discovering that Plankton has taken over Bikini Bottom with an army of giant vacuum machines and apparently works with a group called the Syndicate along with Professor Calamitous, Vlad Plasmius and Denzel Crocker who are looking to rule all of their respective worlds.

Spongebob later joins up with Timmy Turner, Danny Phantom and Jimmy Neutron to combat the evildoers and save all of their worlds.

What I love about this game was getting to see some of my favorite characters throughout the game like Sandy Cheeks, Sam and Tucker and of course Patrick Star.

The gameplay itself was pretty simple and easy to pick up which to be honest, makes sense because this is suppose to be a family friendly game.

The characters were fun and funny and totally fit to how they were in their respective shows. So it was pretty cool how the writers were able to blend these characters together and showed how they can be around one another.

Again, it is very hard for me to believe that this game is 25 years and still looks just as fun as it was when it first came out in 2005. What I didn't know was that this game was going to launch a few sequels. But that is a story for another time.

Well tonight was a pretty special night down here in McVeytown as Chad and I along with many other people who live here in McVeytown all came together to celebrate a special accomplishment. And that was how all three of the McVeytown Eagles teams made it to the CKYFL championship games. Winning in both the Peewee and Midget divisions and placing second in the Mighty Mights. Stuff like this doesn't happen often in such a small town where I live so to see these kids have the time of their lives during the parade was certainly a sight to see. One of the things I love about covering sports is when I see kids learn, work hard and turn it into success. What's going on? Being honest with ourselves!

 I don't like to cause any problems with anybody but there have been a lot of things that I been wanting to get off my chest for a very long time now. And that is in my humble opinion people don't seem to want to be honest about really anything anymore. Now, I could be just a little paranoid, maybe my anxiety is getting the best of me or whatever. But as time has past I have been getting a weird feeling all over me. You see, I just feel as though people no one is really being honest with each other, themselves or to God anymore. Nick Dickson

 Recently, I had found out that a family friend of ours named Nick Dickson had a stroke and people have been doing what they can to support him and his family. Nick is a local mechanic who has been serving this community for many, many years and has always been a generous, hard worker and honorable person at the Dickson's Garage along with his father Ken. He and his father are also local racing legends around here in Mifflin County having raced for a couple generations now. Nick and his family have always been honest with me and my family and has helped take care of our vehicles for many years. They are amazing,  hardworking people who now need our help. And according to the go fund me page that was set up by Andrea Baker and Valeri Thornburgh. The doctors had told his family that it will take months at minimum for him to be able to recover and will not be able to work for the foreseeable future.
