Frosty The Snowman (Christmas Special)
Keeping the Christmas theme going here on my blog this month, I thought I write about another fun Christmas special, and that is Frosty the Snowman.
Believe it or not, Frosty was actually first created via song which was written by Walter E. Rollins and Steve Nelson and it was written back in 1950 and was first sung by Gene Autry who sang a lot of Christmas songs back in the day.
The duo of Rankin and Bass were at it again creating this masterpiece. And were giving some help from long time writer Romeo Muller. The special featured the voice talents of Jimmy Durante as the narrator, this would be his final performance, and I must say, did a fantastic job.
Also starring were Billy De Wolfe as Professor Hinkle and Jackie Vernon as the main man himself, or should I say main snowman lol Frosty.
The story follows a group of kids playing outside and build a snowman which they named Frosty. Suddenly, a top hat flies over from the wind and lands on Frosty's head and the next thing you know, the snowman becomes alive.
Really the hat has magic, Professor Hinkle quickly takes this opportunity to get the hat back and use it to get rich. Luckily, his rabbit Hocus Pocus hops his way back to the kids and they bring Frosty back to life. However, they soon realize that Frosty must reach the North Pole before he starts to melt and so the adventure begins.
This was such a fun little Christmas special, I really love the song that this special was based off, it is definitely a common song I enjoy listening to this time of year.
Seeing it the other day on TV really brought a smile on my face and I truly believe that a lot of today's kids need to see this special because it truly is a masterpiece and I really wish the world could be more like that.
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
