The Ministry Of Darkness (Wrestling Faction)

As mentioned in an earlier blog post, I am a huge fan of the Undertaker. Mainly because of love the dark, gothic character. But the reason why I am talking about the Ministry of Darkness was because that this is the first time I remember seeing the Undertaker.

This faction was scary for me as a kid watching wrestling, but at the same time though I thought it was amazing to watch as well. Which my mother was not happy about it lol.

The faction itself was also both frighten and incredible. With such talent like Mideon, Viscera, Bradshaw, Faarooq who all have massive amounts of muscle and every single one of them could easily kill me for a shoot. I certainly want these guys beside me in a dark alley and not in front of me. Not to mention they also had the vampire trio themselves, the Brood as well.

One of the controversies of the group was that the simple fact that they would sometimes perform rituals along with sacrifices. Yeah this group made a lot of people very uncomfortable on multiple occasions.

Watching these guys every Monday night RAW was a treat. Every time the Ministry showed up, my heart rate went right up. It turned the entire show into a horror film.

My favorite moment came during the Black Wedding where Undertaker was trying to turn Stephanie into his bride of darkness so to speak. Next thing you know Stone Cold Steve Austin came to ring and made the save. I can still hear JR go WHAM! Every time Austin blasts Bradshaw in the head with a steel chair.

Looking back on it, I was surprised to see that this faction was around for only a year. I honestly felt like it had been around for a very long time. Especially seeing the chemistry between the members.

Of course, like a lot of things when it becomes corporate, the Ministry of Darkness became really boring when it became the Corporate Ministry.

I often wonder how long this faction would have lasted if left the way it was originally. I mean, in my humble opinion, the Ministry of Darkness had the legs to go at least three years. Or maybe it was only meant to go for as long has it did.

But still this faction was amazing! And honestly, to this very day I still see other wrestlers trying to recreate the success of the Ministry of Darkness and sadly we may never see a group get to the level that the Ministry had. Honestly, I believe that it just comes down to being able to believe in it which is very hard to do nowadays. However, I also fear that they are not as willing to be true heels (bad guys) as wrestlers were in the past. But again, just my humble opinion.

Regardless, I still look back at the Ministry of Darkness as one of the best/scariest wrestling factions in the history of the sport.

Check it out!

God Bless and Be Safe everybody! 🙏🙏🙏

Until next time!
