Stevie Ray Vaughn (Blues Musician)
In my humble opinion, the most underrated genre in the history of music is the blues. With that being said, I recently finished watching a documentary on a blues musician named Stevie Ray Vaughn. Not obviously he was before my time as he tragically passed away the same year that me and my twin brother Chad were born 1990. Rest In Peace!
I was checking out one of my personal favorite channels on TV AXS TV and I saw that they were going to air this documentary and me being a fan of the blues and wanting to know more about the history of the blues as well as music in general, I decided to sit back and watch it. Thank you God! I enjoyed every single second of it.
Getting to see how Stevie was coming up and what he went through growing up and how he used his struggles to create such amazing art really was inspiring to me.
I also loved about they talked about the rise of the "Texas Blues" and working his way through small clubs which honestly I think it be cool to have a blues club where I live because again, the blues is awesome to listen to.
Also getting to see him overcome his struggles with addiction was inspiring as well and I soon learned that he got to work with several great blues artist like Albert King, Muddy Waters. Heck! Stevie even got to work with David Bowie!
One of the things I really learned about Stevie, was he truly incredible gift of playing the guitar which I can only described as a true work of art. The man absolutely shred that thing, I mean holy crap, I was watching this guy play an amazing guitar solo and Stevie was playing it behind his back like it was nothing. The man truly had a gift.
Vaughn compiled five studio albums along with hid band Double Trouble. They had such great songs like Pride and Joy, Love Struck Baby, Lenny, Testify, Superstition (Stevie Wonder Song), Cross Fire and for me personally, I really enjoyed his version of Voodoo Child (Jimi Hendrix Song).
It is such a shame that Stevie is no longer with us, I would have loved to see him live and in person. It would have been magical to say the least. But thankfully, I can listen to him as well as many other blues players on the interweb.
God Bless you Stevie! I pray that you are at peace. Thank you for the incredible music!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
