The 2026 Winter Olympics!

We are edging closer to the 2026 Winter Olympics that are going to be held in Milan, Italy on Friday February 6 on NBC, USA and Peacock.

I myself am excited to see what will be happening during these events! Although, I am more of a Summer Olympics person mainly because there is more to watch and do than Winter, but I love getting to see all the other countries come together for this special occasion.

There will be 116 events in eight sports (16 disciplines) and it will run from February 6 all the way to February 22.

Of the 16 different disciplines that will be appearing during the Winter Olympics, I am looking forward to such events like Curling, Snowboarding, Ice Hockey, Bobsleighing and the one sport that I am mostly looking forward to is the Speed Skating contest.

Italy will also be host to the 2026 Paralympics as well although those events will not begin until March 6 and will run through to March 15. There will be 79 events through six different sports like ice hockey, snowboard and wheelchair curling just to name a few.

Hope and pray that all of the athletes have a safe trip and have a good ole time competing in these special events.

Again, the 2026 Winter Olympics will start on February 6 on NBC!

Congrats To Trent Hidlay! (World Champion)

 Although, it has become common knowledge, by many of us who live in Mifflin County. But former Huskies' great Trent Hidlay pulled off an incredible comeback and became the 2025 World Wrestling Champion in Croatia at 92 kg. After being down 10-2, Hidlay powered his way back to defeat Amanula Gadzhimagomedov 13-10 to win the World's Gold Medal. This is such an inspirational story that needs to be told because stuff like this does not happen very often, especially in a small community like Mifflin County.  To me, the story of Trent is all about never giving up and continuing to push forward as well as hard work and dedication. 25 Years Of Loving Memories!

WOW! It is very hard to believe that on this day April 25, 2000, I lost one of the most fun and loving people that I have ever known. And I called him Pap! It really is true about how time flies, it still feels like only yesterday that I was told that Pap had past away. It was my first experience with death in my life and honestly, didn't handle it too well. For nearly ten years, my Pap never failed to make me smile and laugh. Heck! I always looked forward to seeing him and Nan when I was a kid. Some of my personal favorite memories with Pap was when he took me and my big brother Cody to go see the Merf Dog. I also loved when every time that we would leave and we forgot to hug him, he would begin to "cry" that we didn't hug him and we ended up running back up the porch step and give him and Nan and BIG Hug.
