Eddie Guerrero! RIP
It is really hard for me to believe that 20 years have past since the unfortunate death of one of my favorite pro wrestlers of all time in Eddie Guerrero.
Again, it still feels weird to me that Eddie is gone. I mean he was such a talented wrestler. I remember watching that episode when I discovered his passing. I was in shock, of course the internet wasn't as big as it is nowadays but man it hurt.
Eddie Guerrero is one of best wrestlers of my time of watching pro wrestling and is regarded as one of the greatest in-ring performers ever. The matches that Eddie has have with the likes of Kurt Angle, Dean Malenko, Chris Benoit, Chris Jericho, etc were some of the best matches I have ever seen.
And he is certainly one of the wrestlers I use when I am playing the WWE video games. He along with many others pro wrestlers have also been an influence in the style of wrestling that I love to watch which is technical wrestling.
Another reason as to why I loved watching Eddie was how you could place him anywhere in the match card and it would be a great match. Whether it be for the World title, a Secondary title and even Tag Team championships, he could make it an important contest to watch.
If I was able to be a wrestler, I would love to be that guy who wrestle anyone on the card, you know just help the promotion fill up the card whether it was a singles match, a tag team match or even a six man tag match. Even when I created myself in wrestling video games, I would create my character to be able to do just that wrestle anywhere on the card because of guys like Eddie.
Since his untimely death, I have been checking out a lot of his career. You see, my first experience of watching Eddie Guerrero was during his time in WCW as a part their respected cruiserweight division.
Then obviously he went onto bigger fame in the WWE where he became Latino Heat and created some of the coolest moments in the company's history. Me personally, I really enjoy watching his matches with Kurt Angle as well as his time teaming with his nephew Chavo called Los Guerreros which in my humble opinion, is a very underrated tag team.
But looking back on his amazing career, I saw that he had wrestled all over the world and has wrestled in so many classics in places like Mexico and Japan upon many others wrestling stars like Terry Funk, El Hijo del Santo, the Great Sasuke and got to compete as Black Tiger II for New Japan.
There is so much that could be said about Eddie Guerrero and honestly I don't think I could do any justice for Eddie because he was such a talent in the ring and his personality just touched so many different wrestlers and fans alike. All I can really say is God Bless you Eddie, I hope and pray you are at peace. And thoughts and prayers to your friends and family!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
