Lee Corso Will Be Missed

This past weekend marked the end of an era as Lee Corso picked his final selection when he picked Ohio State over Texas which turns out to be correct as Ohio State defeated the Texas Longhorns 14-7. And I got to be honest with you guys, it is going to be really weird not having him around anymore.

Being a young fellow, I only really remember Corso as a sports analyst. But the more I looked into his career, he was once a Head Coach among the college ranks.

After his playing career at Florida State, Corso joined the Seminoles as an assistant before moving on to Maryland.

After a few seasons with the Terrapins, he went over to the Navy Midshipmen for a couple of years before getting his first Head Coaching job with the Louisville Cardinals from 1969 to 1972.

Corso then took over as the Head Coach of the Indiana Hoosiers and remained there for ten seasons and led the Hoosiers to two winning seasons. In one of those seasons included a Holiday Bowl win over the BYU Cougars by the final score of 38-37.

When his coaching career came to an end, Corso later joined ESPN and was a part of the debut of College GameDay program in 1987. But it was in 1993 when they started being on site for games and Corso quickly played the role of the comic foil where he delivered his famous catchphrase "Not so fast my friend" which was mainly used as a playful disagreement with his colleagues' predictions.

How fitting though that his final time at College GameDay ends with Corso going 6-0.

It is a shame though we will no longer have Corso for college football. But I hope and pray that he enjoys his retirement. God Bless you coach!

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
