The X Games!

With Summer coming to a close, I wanted to look back on somethings. While I was looking back on the Summer, I realized that thirty years ago was the debut of what people called the X Games. Although it was founded in 1994, the inaugural season happened in 1995 and has since became a global phenomenon.

Being a kid of the 1990s and proud of it lol, the X Games really helped bring the "extreme sports" into the mainstream and introduced many of us to such great talent like Tony Hawk, Mat Hoffman, Dave Mirra (RIP), Shaun White, Travis Pastrana and many more.

What I also thought was cool about the X Games was it not only featured, skateboarding, BMX, freestyle motorcross, skiing and snowboarding. But this special event also had music and culture elements like live music performances, athlete autograph sessions as well as interactive, family-friendly exhibitions.

As a young kid watching these events, really inspired me. I mean, seeing what these guys were doing was incredible. You guys might be surprised by this, but when I was younger, I use to be a rollerblader. Unfortunately, it is really difficult to go outside and try to rollerblade when it is very cold in the state of Pennsylvania 😂.

There were plenty of historical moments during the X Games. One of the craziest things that I ever saw was when Tony Hawk pulled off the 900 trick during the skateboarding competition in 2003. Of course, there were several other awesome stuff that had happened as well including Shaun White's Double McTwist 1260 in snowboarding, Mirra completed a double backflip in BMX, Travis Pastrana nailed a double backflip during freestyle motorcross and Heath Frisby who completed the first ever front flip on a snowmoblie.

Again, it is crazy to think that this started 30 years ago. I guess it is true, time really does fly when you are having fun. Stuff like this really made me want to be out there in the warm weather. I really wish I was there to see this during its heyday. But regardless, I am so grateful to all the people involved in such an incredible event and I pray that the X Games continues forever.

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
