Dual! Parallel Trouble Adventure (Anime)
This was such a fun anime to watch when I was growing up as kid. Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure was created by Masaki Kajishima and first launched from April to July of 1999, only 13 episodes made with the exception of the OVA special which was used to close out the series, but nonetheless, I loved this show.
The first time I saw this anime was during the days of Tech TV which was what G4 was called before the merger. It was on a late night time slot called Anime Unleashed, needless to say, my twin brother Chad and I spend a lot of time watching this lol.
The concept of the show was loosely based on the Multiverse theory where one thing could happen in one universe while another decision was made in another.
For example, the plot follows an event that had happened 22 years ago where an alien artifact was found at a construction site by a worker named Yotsuga. He was then ordered to get rid of it and as Yotsuga walks towards the dumpster, the world splits in two where one he throws it away and it gets destroyed, while in the other, Yotsuga keeps the artifact and it is discovered and the world is introduced to technology like they have never seen before.
Back in the present day, Kazuki Yotsuga is a high school student who is shunned by his classmates for being a "otaku". He runs a website where he describes battles of giant fighting robots where apparently only he can see. Which me personally already makes it the best website ever lol.
This brings the attention of popular girl Mitsuki Sanada who approaches him and tells Kazuki that she loves his stories. This only turns out to be a ruse as she brings him to see her father Dr. Sanada so he can study him. The next thing they know, they are accidentally sent into a parallel universe where they end up getting involved in a war with giant fighting robots and must find a way back to their world.
Did I mention this anime has giant fighting robots! 😁😏
For a short series, this one has really stuck with me. Of course the mech battles are always fun to watch, but what I also really liked was how Kazuki was the only man who was able to control a mech as in this universe, only women can due to them being "Less Violent". I can also relate to the main character Kazuki, being a shy and awkward person myself. I also love the fact that he is voiced by Jeremiah Freeman who did the voice of Tai in the original Digimon series.
The battles themselves have always been a fun watch throughout the series and the story itself still is enjoyable even after these years later.
Check out Dual Parallel Trouble Adventure!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
