SEGA (Video Game Company)

This month is a celebration of one of my favorite video game companies ever! Sega is the main reason for why I fell in love with video games and it is crazy to think that this company is now 65 years old.

Sega began its journey selling things like coin operated amusement machines such as the slot machines before moving into the arcade business in the 1980s as well as the home gaming console market.

The very first gaming console created by Sega was SG-1000 back in 1982 and Sega has been involved with video gaming ever since.

Of course being a 90s kid, I never got to play the SG-1000 or the Master System for that matter. I was introduce to Sega thanks to the Sega Genesis and man did I ever love that system.

What I loved most about Sega was the incredible games that were coming through like Golden Axe, Virtua Fighter and of course Sonic the Hedgehog. Also I loved the arcade games like Virtua Fighter as much as I did with the home console version, Burnout, After Burner, etc.

But ultimately, the system I enjoyed playing so much from them was the Dreamcast which blew the roof off of everything, especially with games like the Sonic Adventure series along with Shenmue.

Sega also introduced me to one of inspirations as a writer in Yu Suzuki who created a ton of the awesomeness that came from Sega.

Sadly, Sega are no longer making consoles which is a shame because, I truly love Sega, but nonetheless, I happy that they are still making games. Some of my current favorite games to play from them are games like the Persona series and I am glad to see Sonic still going after all these years.

But thanks to people like Sega Lord X along with several other people who love Sega, I get to see some incredible stuff and learn about things that I did not know about.

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
