The Wacky Adventures Of Josh And Chad: Mifflin County and Mount Union Baseball
Well yesterday, I finally got to go out to the brand new Capouillez Field over at Mifflin County High School as I was covering a baseball game between the Mifflin County Huskies and the Mount Union Trojans for Hometown Sports Magazine.
First, I must say, I am always excited to go see my old baseball coach Ray Hoppel as well as Coach Brett Leister. Seeing them again is always a good time, not to mention, I also got to see a lot of old friends and former teachers from my days at Lewistown Area High School. Ms. Matthews was there who I learned a lot about business from as well as making amazing Whoopie Pies and good ole Bret Treaster who is always a blasted to hangout with.
As I stepped onto the field for the first time, It didn't take long for me to notice the difference between real grass and turf. It was kind of weird to be perfectly honest with all of you seeing all of the turf, including the "dirt" and lines that surround the diamond but hey, the field is finally here and it is really cool to see these get to play on it.
I also got to see some friends on the Mount Union side as well including Head Coach Tim Hicks along with the rest of the coaching staff. I also wanted to take this time and send thoughts and prayers to them and the family of long time baseball coach Nick Imperioli (RIP).
The game itself was really fun to watch, both teams gave it their all. Unfortunately, somebody's got to win, somebody's got to lose and it was Mount Union who 2-0.
After the game I to chat with both coaches and met up with my cousin Cory and his Uncle Steve. They too really enjoyed the game.
Then I got home and wrote up my story for Hometown Sports, hopefully everyone will enjoy it.
I would like to thank Coach Hoppel and Mifflin County for having me there at their field and I wish for both him and Coach Hicks and their respective teams the best of luck for the rest of the season.
Also to anyone one who reads this, if you are able, go out and support youth sports, these kids work very hard and give 110%.
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
