The Wacky Adventures Of Josh And Chad: Clifton 5 Theater/Heart Eyes Film
Well, Chad and myself decided to take another trip down to Huntingdon where we made our return to the Clifton 5 theater to watch the Heart Eyes movie which stars Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding.
This was a movie that Chad had been wanting to see for a while now but we never really had a chance to see it until now. Needless to say, my twin was more excited about seeing this movie than I was, the trailer didn't really grab my attention, but Chadman wanted to go so I figured, at least give it a shot.
When we arrived to our seats with a drink and a snack, we realized that our theater room was totally empty which at first, we thought it was pretty cool to have the room to ourselves, but another part of me was like, man remember when going to the movies was a thing? I wish more people would go out more, I mean I get why people don't anymore, but I guess I just wish things were like how they use to be.
Anyway, back to the movie however as Heart Eyes is a horror romantic comedy where co-workers Ally McCabe (Olivia Holt) and Jay Simmons (Mason Goodling) are mistaken for an actually couple by a serial killer "Heart Eyes" who kills couples on Valentine's Day and looks to make both Jay and Ally his next victims.
Overall, I didn't think the film was great, but I don't necessarily think it was bad either. It was pretty much up and down for me. Parts of the movie I really enjoyed, but there were times I just did not care for the movie.
For example, the comedy wasn't really that funny, at times I kind of was annoyed with it. Honestly felt like this movie should have been more serious horror film than a comedy. But this is just my humble opinion.
I will say I did enjoy the chemistry between Olivia Holt and Mason Gooding. Despite the ups and downs of the writing, I thought these two worked really well together. Plus I could relate to both characters and when they said things, I felt like they meant it. Really appreciated the effort both of them put into it.
Though as mentioned earlier, I didn't really care for some of the comedy, I will say without trying to spoil anything, I really liked the swerve near the end of the film. I also enjoyed the look of the Heart Eyes Killer, the concept of it was pretty cool.
Again, the movie was alright, nothing fancy but enjoyable enough. I'd say 6 out of 10 for me. Go check it out for yourselves. Maybe you guys will like it!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
