March Madness! Basketball And Wrestling Part 2!

 Another night in the books of college sports as Men's Basketball finish up their first round games and Wrestling getting ready for their championship matches Saturday night.

First and for most, Go Irish! ☘ as the Last Irish defeated their first round opponent SFA 106-54 and will prepare to go to battle against Michigan in the second round as the Women's first round will finish up Saturday.

Meanwhile, only a few upsets during the remaining first round games with #7 Marquette was taken down by #10 New Mexico, #12 Colorado State defeated #5 Memphis and #9 Baylor dropped #8 Mississippi State.

Personally, I really enjoyed watching the game between Vanderbilt and St. Mary's with the Gaels making a strong second half to avoid an upset.

The second round is now set and I wonder who will all make it to the Sweet 16 round. With most of the top seeds still remaining, but I also am interested to see who will be the Cinderella team and make a deep run in the tournament.

Wrestling has their championship matches set with three Nittany Lions Mesenbrink, Starocci and Barr making it to the championship and four going to compete in the third place matches. Penn State is currently in front team wise with 135.5 points and will look to collect another National title Saturday night.

We all will have to wait and see where everything is going. It certainly is going to be a long night especially with the wrestling championships.

The Wacky Adventures Of Joshua and Chad: McVeytown Eagles Championship Parade!

Well tonight was a pretty special night down here in McVeytown as Chad and I along with many other people who live here in McVeytown all came together to celebrate a special accomplishment. And that was how all three of the McVeytown Eagles teams made it to the CKYFL championship games. Winning in both the Peewee and Midget divisions and placing second in the Mighty Mights. Stuff like this doesn't happen often in such a small town where I live so to see these kids have the time of their lives during the parade was certainly a sight to see. One of the things I love about covering sports is when I see kids learn, work hard and turn it into success. And these kids were learning a lot throughout the season and watching them grow and not only become better football players, but better people as well.  Which is why I have really enjoyed covering the CKYFL these last few years for Hometown Sports. Nick Dickson

 Recently, I had found out that a family friend of ours named Nick Dickson had a stroke and people have been doing what they can to support him and his family. Nick is a local mechanic who has been serving this community for many, many years and has always been a generous, hard worker and honorable person at the Dickson's Garage along with his father Ken. He and his father are also local racing legends around here in Mifflin County having raced for a couple generations now. Nick and his family have always been honest with me and my family and has helped take care of our vehicles for many years. They are amazing,  hardworking people who now need our help. And according to the go fund me page that was set up by Andrea Baker and Valeri Thornburgh. The doctors had told his family that it will take months at minimum for him to be able to recover and will not be able to work for the foreseeable future.
