Limp Bizkit
Some of you might be a little bit surprised by this, but I am a big fan of a musical group known as Limp Bizkit which was formed back in 1994 and were big in the underground before getting hitting the big time in 1997 went they launched their debut album Three Dollar Bill, Ya'll.
One of the things I love about this band was the fact that DJ Lethal was a part of it. I remember realizing that this was the same DJ who played with another group I enjoy listening to in the House of Pain. Speaking of which, that was another reason why I love Limp Bizkit because the mixture of hip-hop elements with the rock and roll, nu-metal as they called it. It just felt like to me as a kid growing on both rap like House of Pain, Cypress Hill as well as rock like ACDC, Metallica, etc. So to see them combined was incredible.
Plus this was also during the era of the skateboarding, rollerblading, scootering, BMX. Basically the X games which was becoming more and more popular around the late 1990s. I myself was a blader, of course didn't really have much to skate on being in a small town of PA.
The combination of Fred Durst's rapping and listening to the sick beats from DJ Lethal, the amazing guitar play from Wes Borland, Sam Rivers on bass and John Otto on drums never was not entertaining.
The first time I had heard about Limp Bizkit was with their second album which came out in 1999 and it was called Significant Other. God only knows how much I love that album. I could just put on my headphones, press play on my CD player and just walk around like the world didn't exist.
Some of my favorite songs I enjoy listening to are My Generation, Nookie, My Way, Break Stuff, Rollin, Boiler, Behind Blue Eyes. But I personally love Re-Arranged, just the tone and story about it really connected with me, even to this very day.
Looking back at some the old music that I listened to really does bring me back to a time where I was at my most imaginative and I feel like as weird as it may sound, God is trying to help remember of some of the positive moments of my youth. And this group was definitely a huge part of my childhood, really just rap rock/ nu-metal in general was so thanks Limp Bizkit.
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
