Bullseye (Comic Book Character)
One of the best villains in the Daredevil series and arguably the greatest villain that Daredevil has ever faced. Bullseye!
The character was created by writer Marv Wolfman and artist John Romita Sr (RIP). Bullseye made his debut in March of 1976 in Daredevil issue #131 and has become one of the best and most dangerous opponents that Daredevil has ever come face to face with. In fact, Bullseye also has dealings with The Punisher as well.
Though he has no super powers to speak of, that doesn't make him any less dangerous. Bullseye is an expert marksman who can use anything as a lethal projectile. Whether it is shuriken, a sai or just a simple playing card, Bullseye could end your life in a matter of seconds.
Although he uses the name Benjamin Poindexter in the comic books as well the Daredevil series on Netflix as well as the up coming Born Again series. The truth of the matter is, no one really knows the true origin or real name of Bullseye. He is a complete unknown and even when the comic book mini series that came out in 2004 which was suppose to explain his origins only for it to be revealed that Bullseye fabricated some if not all of it.
What makes Bullseye such an amazing villain in my humble opinion is that he is just a straight homicidal manic. I mean this guy literally takes great pleasure in killing his targets and to be honest, can be tough to read sometimes especially when doing the character right. Bullseye is everything that Daredevil isn't and also trying to avoid becoming and he certainly pushes Daredevil to his limits on a number of occasions.
Obviously the biggest pain Bullseye has ever caused Daredevil was the night he challenged and basically murdered Daredevil's former lover Elektra. And the only reason why he did was because he was upset that Kingpin replaced with her as his chief assassin. The problem was this still didn't get his job back with the Kingpin.
We are getting closer to Daredevil Born Again which will be debuting on Disney Plus on March 4. Wilson Bethal who played Bullseye in the Netflix series is coming back to play him in this series. Which I am excited for because I felt he did a great job.
Fingers crossed!
Until Next Time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
