Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1990 Film)

Oh boy I love me some Ninja Turtles and in today's post, I am going to be talking about the 1990 classic starring the four lovable Mutant Turtles Leonardo, Michaelangelo Donatello and Raphael as along with their allies, April O'Neil and Casey Jones attempt to rescue their Master Splinter from the hands of the Shredder and the Foot Clan.

35 years later and this movie still is amazing! In fact, several elements from the animated series were used in the film. The suits used for the turtles were created by the Jim Henson's Creature Shop. Sadly, this was one of the last projects that Jim Henson ever did as he tragically passed away after the premiere (Rest In Peace Henson 🙏🙏🙏).

What I found interesting about the film was that it was consider an independent movie at the time and it only had a budget of 13.5 million dollars. But it absolutely smashed at the box office making a grand total of 202 million dollars which made it the highest grossing independent film up to that point in time. It was also ninth grossing film of the year.

I mean, I can see why it made so much money. The movie is awesome! From the voice actors, the people in the suits, the people working behind the scenes, all the way to the soundtrack, everything about this movie was fantastic. You got to really appreciate the effort that people went into making this film.

Looking back, I am extremely grateful to have been able to witness this movie growing up as a kid. In fact, this movie was just the first of three incredible films.

Many people claim that out of three films made, this one was considered the best. Two of those people who say so are the very two people who created the Turtles Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. Both have gone on record and said so. And who would argue with that, if anybody would know the Turtles best, it is those two.

If you haven't seen this movie, please do it is one of those once in a lifetime films in my humble opinion. It certainly made me smile as a child. Miss those times.

There even was a reunion panel last year that I recommend everybody go and see.

I love the Ninja Turtles, they will always be a big part of my childhood.

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
