Sin City (2005 Film)

The more I look back on some of these reviews of old school, games, movies, etc, the older I feel 😂. Today's topic will be no different as I look back on one of my favorite movies, especially since it is based on a comic series by one of my favorite writers. The movie is Sin City.

The film is based off the comic series of the same name and was created by the great Frank Miller. Along with Miller, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino lend their talents to the film as well and honestly, the trio did a fantastic job with the movie. I love the fact that Miller had gotten a chance to director this movie, I mean it is only right because it is his book series.

This was the very first time I had heard of the Sin City Franchise as I was barely alive when the comic book first started. Needless to say I started looking the series up and it never disappointed.

The movie features the first, third and fourth books of the comic book series. The Hard Goodbye, The Big Fat Kill and That Yellow Bastard. The intro and outro of the movie, which was dubbed as The Customer is Always Right parts one and two was based off the sixth books Booze, Babes and Bullets.

Each short story was quite a joy to watch, but if I had to pick which one I enjoyed the most, I would have to say the Big Fat Kill which featured Clive Owen and Rosario Dawson. I also love the character Miho who was played by Devon Aoki.

But the biggest reason as to why I loved this movie is because of the whole film-noir style of it. The whole black and white concept has always been a favorite of mine. To be perfectly honest, I haven't really seen movies go to that style of film and it sucks because I think it is a pretty cool way to tell a story.

Sin City had a budget of 40 million dollars and nearly hit 160 million dollars in the box office.

I would also like take this opportunity to offer my thoughts and prayers to Brittany Murphy, Michael Clarke Duncan, Clark Middleton, Rutger Hauer and Powers Boothe who are sadly no longer with us. Rest In Peace 🙏🙏🙏.

I would also like to thank Frank Miller for bringing all of us yet another amazing comic book series as well Rodriguez and Tarantino for helping Miller to create an incredible film.

Check it out!

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
