The Wacky Adventures Of Josh and Chad: Clifton 5 Theater: Red One (Film)

Just the other night, my twin brother Chad and I decided to head back to the Clifton 5 theater in downtown Huntingdon to see one of the latest films created by Seven Bucks Production led by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. And the movie is called Red One.

This movie stars The Rock along with Chris Evans, Lucy Liu and J.K. Simmons as Santa Claus himself. The story of the film is simple, Santa has been kidnapped by an evil witch and it is up to the duo of Callum Drift (The Rock) and Jack O'Malley (Evans) to save Christmas. Helping them along the way is Zoe Harlow (Liu).

The film itself was alright, it wasn't anything special by any means. But at the same time there were some things about the movie I did enjoy.

On the positive side of things, I really thought the cast did try their best with what they had. I really believed that they were trying to make a good movie. The fights scene were pretty cool, I liked how they incorporated a lot of the Christmas toys and use them as weapons to defend their city.

I also like how some of the characters were, for example, I loved how the The Rock's character was thinking about retirement after believing that a lot people don't have the Christmas spirit anymore. Which in a way I can relate to. Also Evans' character had his moments and I did enjoy Lucy's character and I really thought Simmons did a good job trying to bring the spirit of Santa in the film.

Now with that being said, I really did not like the swearing in the movie. It is suppose to be a Christmas movie and I didn't like the overly swearing and plus, I thought there was too many plot holes and also there was too many scenes in the movie that I didn't think were really necessary. For example, I thought the Krampus thing wasn't needed and I didn't understand what they were trying to do, it kind of felt all over the place.

Again overall, I thought the movie was alright. But wasn't really a movie I'd got watch again. I'd give it a 6/10

Until Next Time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everyone! 🙏🙏🙏
