Rogue Elements (Indy Film)

I just finished watching an Indy film on Youtube called Rogue Elements which was based off the book series written by Will Jordan. You might know him better as the Youtube star The Critical Drinker.

The short film follows Ryan Drake who is looking to recover an asset and infiltrates a heavily guarded base with every single one of his moves are being watched over by a mysterious figure. He moves his way through the compound and rescues the asset only to find himself in one heck of a fire fight.

I must say, I really did enjoy this little film that these guys how made. I could really tell that there was a lot of care being taken with each scene and each character.

Another thing I loved about this movie was the pacing. For the record this movie was under an hour and most films would try and cram in a whole bunch of different stuff in it. But not this film, it was pretty much straight forward and got to the point in my humble opinion.

The action scenes were pretty good too, I really appreciated the effort they put into that. I also thought the actors and actresses were really into the characters that they were playing and you can totally see that in the movie.

The ending song Whatever by the band Age of Days was amazing too!

The only real criticism I have of this short film and to be perfectly honest, it really only is a minor issue for me. Was that I didn't fully understand what was going on between the main character Drake and Anya the mysterious Russian lady who helped Drake along the way. But like I said before it is a minor problem because it is a short film. Maybe we will learn more at the later time!

Fun fact! I learned that this was based on Jordan's novel series which was a total of nine books. All were based on the adventures of the lead character of the movie, Ryan Drake.

I say this is a fun fact because as a writer myself, it is really cool to see another writer have his or her creations get to be put in movies or TV series. And it really has inspired me and more importantly, given me hope that I too can make it and hopefully have others enjoy my work and inspire them as well so thank you so much Mr. Jordan.

Here is the link to the movie! I highly recommend it!
