Assassin's Creed: Rogue
Assassin's Creed was one of my favorite video games as it first came out back in 2007 when I was only a sophomore in high school and I loved the concept of the game, going into a machine called the Animus where they use the memories of someone from the past to help figure out ways to find the pieces of Eden.
But today i figure I write about one of my favorite games from series and it was Assassin's Creed Rogue. This game first came out in 2014 and what I loved the most about this game was seeing things through the eyes of a Templar.
You follow Shay Patrick Cormac who originally was an assassin during the French and Indian War that was from 1752 all the way to 1760.
But you play as Shay throughout the game we slowly witness him lose his original opinion of the Assassins and was kicked out of the group eventually becoming a member of the Templars in order to stop the Assassins from destroying the Earth.
I love playing this game, I could play over and over and over again. Of course I always enjoyed seeing the awesome parkour style moves, going from rooftop to rooftop.
However, what I really love about this game was that you get to play as a Templar, which in my humble opinion is the side I agree with more. Though to be fair I don't have problems with Assassin beliefs, there are characters like Enzo that I liked playing as, but also feel like sometimes individually we need to have order in our lives or things will go into chaos.
I also really love the character of Shay, I think throughout the game he is realizing his true self so to speak and discovered his beliefs are more aligned with the Templars. He doesn't necessarily hate the Assassins, I say that because Shay saved his old Assassins Mentor Achilles from being killed by Haytham Kenway. (Spoiler Alert).
Haytham himself is such a fun character as well. I like the whole no nonsense, straight to the point, just complete focus on his goals. I also am a fan of Colonial Monro who I think is a true sense of the word honorable man. And of course Gist was pretty fun too. Which by the way, both Monro and Gist are real life people.
I would love if this games would feature more views from the Templars. But also in my humble opinion, both sides are flawed, but depending on the situation one's views maybe suited better than the other.
Assassin's Creed Rogue was one of my favorite games in the series. And again, I would love to this more from the Templar side of things. I really believe we all could learn a lot from both sides. Kind of like what Shay was doing in the game.
Plus, great job by Steven Piovesan who was the voice actor of Shay. I love what he did for the character.
Check the game out!
Until next time!
God Bless and Be Safe Everyone! 🙏🙏🙏
