The Man With The Golden Gun (James Bond Movie)

It is hard to believe that this movie came out 50 years ago. And in my humble opinion, still holds up and I really enjoyed The Man with the Golden Gun.

The movie was based off an Ian Fleming novel of the same name. In fact, the Man with the Golden Gun was actually released after Fleming had past away (RIP). Though the movie was a loose adaptation from the book. I still fairly enough it!

The plot is that 007 himself received a golden bullet from an assassin named Scaramanga. Which is his way of saying, your next on my list so to speak. There is just one problem, outside of the fact that he has a third nipple, yes a third nipple, no one knows what this man looks like. And so Bond unofficially decides to track him down before it is too late.

Joining Bond on his quest are Lieutenant Hip who is Bond's contact when he arrives at Hong Kong as well as Bangkok. Also coming along for the ride is Mary Goodnight who is the classic Bond Girl of the story.

As the story progresses, Bond finally comes face to face with Scaramanga himself and so learns that he wishes to compete against Bond in a duel to see who is the best. 007 also discovered that Scaramanga plans to use solar energy to destroy the world. 😮

Once again, I really enjoyed this movie, not necessary the best Bond film, but better than I think most people gave the film.

Starting off, Roger Moore (RIP) did a great job as Bond. I love the puns he says in the movie and still get me laughing to this very day. Like when he went to the gun maker and points the rifle at him saying, I am now aiming precisely at your groin, so speak or forever hold your piece 😂.

Now, lets talk about Christopher Lee (RIP). He does an amazing job as Scaramanga aka the Man with the Golden Gun. It really shouldn't be so surprising though, I mean, Lee had a lot of practice being a villain in plenty of horror movies. But holy crap was he good in this movie!

What's even crazier is that this movie had a budget of 7 million and scored a box office of 97.6 million dollars.

I maybe a little bit biased because I am a James Bond fan, but this movie was really enjoyable. If you haven't seen it, go check it out!

Until next time!

God Bless and Be Safe Everybody! 🙏🙏🙏
