I Love The Sport Of Boxing
God only knows how much I enjoy watching the great sport of boxing! God I love this sport so much. Mainly because of how simple the concept is. It is basically just two men in the ring going toe to toe for however many rounds they were schedule to compete against each other and see who comes out victorious.
I first here of the great sport of boxing through one of my favorite movie characters, Rocky Balboa from the Rocky films. Needless to say I was hooked.
My earliest experiences of boxing was seeing the craziness that was Mike Tyson. Now, I did not see him during his heyday of the 1980s. I was watching him during the 90s where he was a wildman to say the least.
But ultimately, my favorite moment in boxing was the trio of amazing fights from two of the greatest fighters ever! Arturo "Thunder" Gatti and one of my personal favorite boxers "Irish" Micky Ward. These trio fights between the two incredible boxers were and still are truly amazing. I in no way can ever put into words how much fun those matches between Gatti and Ward are so go and watch them if you can find them. I found some matches on youtube so please go check them out. 🙏🙏🙏
I really wished I could have learn how to box personally, unfortunately where I live, I do not know where I could go and learn. Now I do not plan to become a pro boxer, I just think it be a cool thing to learn just to say I did it and plus, just do something to get some kind of exercise.
Honestly, I feel as though this could be a healthy way for me to get a lot of my stress and frustrations out. Lately, I've been dealing with a ton of stuff mentally and there have been days where I really wanted to punch something.
Boxing has also been a fun experience for me in gaming as well. Starting with fun games like Mike Tyson's Punchout. Other games Knockout Kings were extremely fun to play. But for me, I still love playing the Fight Night series which was so much fun to be able to create a boxer and go through career mode.
I still miss watching the Fight Night shows on ESPN where I got to learn a lot about boxing thanks to people like Teddy Atlas.
Tyson Fury was also a major influence on me in my continued love for boxing. Hearing his struggle with depression and how he fought his way back really made a strong impression on me and had helped me with dealing with my own depression and more importantly, brought me hope. Thank you Tyson Fury 🙏🙏🙏
Heck! I would have loved to be able to be a promoter and run shows. I always thought it be cool to help fighters get their big breaks. But sadly, I don't really think that will ever happen. But hey, a guy can dream huh!
